The 48-Hour Film Project, which gives filmmaking teams the opportunity to write, shoot and edit their film within a 48-hour period, July 20-22, after receiving a genre, character, prop and line of dialogue that they must work into their film. Hawai'i Theatre Apprentice Program, attend classes, go on field trips and talk with visiting artists to learn specific areas of theater production including set, costume and lighting design, stage management and directing; open to public, private and home-schooled high school students; $200 lab fee for the 2007-2008 season. 2007-2008 Miss & Mister Island Gem Pageant seeks female and male contestants of any age for the Oct. 20 pageant at Zanzabar Nightclub. Registration fee is $25; entry and training fee is $50 for ages 9 and younger and $100 for ages 10 and older. Application: 853-7216. Deadline is Aug. 11.
