A Wahiawa man was arrested today at Manoa Marketplace for allegedly setting up a meeting for sex with a minor on the Internet.

The man arrested by Hawai'i Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force officials was Ray S. John, 25, according to State Attorney General Mark Bennett and Deputy Chief Paul Putzulu of the Honolulu Police Department.

John was arrested at 9:30 a.m. and booked for first-degree electronic enticement of a child. Charges were still pending at 8 p.m.

John allegedly arranged to have sex with a police detective, posing online as a 13-year-old girl. He was arrested after showing up at the agreed meeting place.
