Loss narrows for Kona producer of microalgae products

Mera Pharmaceuticals Inc., a Kona-based producer of microalgae products, said it cut its net loss by more than half in the three months ended April 30, as sales of its Asta Factor line and research contract services jumped.The company reported a loss of $63,644 compared with a loss of $160,517 a year earlier.
Revenue rose to $135,169 from $69,450 in the year-prior quarter.
Mera, in a regulatory filing, said it is in negotiations for use of its facility and that it expects to introduce a new product later this year.
