Advertiser Staff

The state Department of Transportation will begin making pedestrian safety improvements tomorrow on Farrington Highway along the Wai'anae Coast.

Crews will restripe crosswalks, paint pavement marking messages and move intersection stop lines from certain crosswalks.

Lane closures are scheduled along the highway from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. The work will start out in the Makaha area, and continue toward Nanakuli.

Motorists are urged to use caution when driving thought the work area.

The safety work should last about six weeks and cost approximately $75,000, the DOT said.
