A 40-year-old man arrested Sunday in 'Ewa for allegedly robbing the owner of a storage container was charged yesterday with second-degree robbery.

Less Allen Schnabel Sr., 40, who has no permanent local address, is being held in lieu of $50,000 for second-degree robbery. Schnabel, who has 15 prior convictions according to Hawai'i Criminal Justice Data Center records, is also being held on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

He is the father of 21-year-old Less Schnabel Jr., who was charged in May with manslaughter for the April 22 beating death of Christopher Reuther, 34, of North Carolina at Zablan Beach Park in Nanakuli.

The elder Schnabel was allegedly confronted by a man inside a large storage container that was broken into Sunday. Police arrested Schnabel in a van on Kolowaka Drive and Fort Weaver Road at 9:55 a.m.
