Kalihi Valley family to see its 'Makeover' home today

Fans have been flocking to the site all week, day and night, to watch the construction workers and volunteers at ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" work their magic at a Kalihi Valley home.See PHOTOS from the volunteer effort under way in Kalihi.
Today at 1 p.m., the Akana family returns to see its new digs — a plush new home that's about 3,500 square feet, and a new community center that's also about 3,500 square feet.
Finishing touches such as laying sod in the front yard and bringing in the new furniture were done yesterday. Thousands of volunteers, including fellow ABC reality show star Lt. Andy Baldwin of "The Bachelor" fame, helped put up the two buildings in a one-week span.
The Akanas will see their home today. "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" opens its fifth season on Sept. 23.
