Guard's Pu'unene Armory gets $85K for projects

Advertiser Staff

Gov. Linda Lingle yesterday released $85,000 in planning funds for the Hawai'i National Guard's (HING) Pu'unene Armory on Maui.

The funds will be used to complete Phase II of the project's environmental site assessment, which includes testing for hazardous materials, a news release from Lingle's office said. The assessment will determine if the intended location is suitable for further development. Phase I of the assessment was limited to the initial construction site for the Hawai'i National Guard facility.

Phase II of the environmental site assessment is currently under way.
