Kaneohe's Wilson shoots 6-over 76 at U.S. Open

Advertiser Staff

Former Honolulu resident Dean Wilson shot a 6-over-par 76 today at the U.S. Open in Oakmont, Pa.

Wilson, who started on the back nine, was 2-over at the turn. But he double-bogeyed hole No. 1 (his 10th) and then bogeyed two of his final three holes.

Wilson, a former Kane'ohe resident and Castle High alum, is tied in 90th place with 14 others, including Masters champion Zach Johnson, two-time Open winner Retief Goosen, and Colin Montgomerie.

Wilson will tee off from the first tee at 2:39 a.m. tomorrow. His playing partners are Anthony Kim of Dallas and Jeev Milkha Singh of India.
