Local 'Idol' show looking for 10 contestants

The contest is open to those 16 to 28; the winner will be selected from a roster of six finalists in a one-hour special set for Sept. 16.
KHON, the Fox affiliate, will present the winner with Hawaiian Air first class tickets for two to a West Coast destination to be named.
Five initial auditioners have already been selected for the June 24 launch, but 10 more slots are available, according to Carole Kai, show co-host. The final audition will be on June 23; for details and to register, go to www.hawaiistars.com.
"Hawaii Stars" recently completed a series of "Keiki Stars" shows, open to youths 6 to 12, and the winners were Jasmin Idica, Maka'ala Perry and Colby Benson. Their winning performances can be seen at www.hawaiistars.com.
