A police officer was slugged by a teenage boy and three military man were allegedly assaulted last night in a confrontation involving a large group of people in Waikiki near "The Wall."

Police booked the boy, 17, as a juvenile for first-degree assault on a law-enforcement officer, failure to disperse and resisting arrest.

Three men were charged today with assault in connection with injuries allegedly suffered by the military men, two of whom are 20 and the other 21.

Brayden Wade-Kalahiki, 26, of Quinn Lane in Kaka'ako was charged with one count of second-degree felony assault and two counts of misdemeanor third-degree assault. His total bail is $6,000.

Ilai Luamani, 19, of Ahe Street in Palolo and Cyrus West, 19, who has no permanent local address, were each charged with misdemeanor third-degree assault. Their bail is $2,000 each.

The three men have initial appearances scheduled tomorrow at District Court.

Police responded to "The Wall" near Kalakaua and Kapahulu avenues at 11 last night to investigate a reported assault on the three military men.

One of the alleged victims suffered a fractured and cut nose, while another had a cut lip and facial bruises. A third victim, 21, declined treatment but complained of facial pain.

Police arrested Wade-Kalahiki, Luamanu and West. While they were in patrol cars awaiting transport to the police station for booking, a large group of 15 to 20 friends and relatives of the men gathered around the vehicles, police said.

They refused repeated orders to disperse and became disorderly, police said.

The boy who was with the group failed to heed repeated warnings by police and was told he would be arrested. The boy allegedly turned and punched a male officer standing nearby in the temple.

The officer was not seriously injured.
