Top high school seniors receiving $88K in scholarships

High school seniors from 59 schools will be receiving $88,000 in scholarships from the Mamoru and Aiko Takitani Foundation, Inc. at a luncheon Saturday.

Two $10,000 scholarships, one $5,000 scholarship, seven $2,000 scholarships and 49 $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. The 15th Annual Takitani Scholarship Awards Luncheon takes place from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Waialae Country Club.

Since 1993, the foundation has annually presented scholarships to an outstanding student at every qualifying high school in the state. The total in scholarships since 1993 is more than $1.2 million.
