Hawaii director tapped for U.S. Agriculture post

Stephanie A. Whelan, president and director for the Hawaii Agricultural Research Center, has been appointed to the U.S. Agriculture Department's Advisory Committee on Biotechnology and 21st Century Agriculture.Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns announced Whalen will serve a two-year term.
