Canine patrol helping with free keiki ID program

Advertiser Staff

Two O'ahu public libraries will host free Keiki ID programs featuring Sgt. Michael Oakland from the Canine Section of the Sheriff Division of the State Department of Public Safety.

The first program will be held today at 1 p.m. at the McCully-Mo'ili'ili Public Library. Another ID program will be held at 'Ewa Beach Public & School Library on Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

The ID programs are in celebration of the 2007 HSPLS Children's Summer Reading Program. Parents and guardians can bring their children to register for a Keiki ID, which provides parents with a record of their children's vital information. The Keiki ID card allows for rapid response in the event the child gets lost or becomes missing.

Call the library as soon as possible if a sign language interpreter or other special accommodation is needed.

The McCully-Mo'ili'ili Public Library is at 2211 S. King St. (phone 973-1099) and the 'Ewa Beach Public & School Library is at 91-950 North Road (phone 689-1204).
