Sparks' Leslie gives birth to first child — a girl

LOS ANGELES — Lisa Leslie has a new player on her team.The Los Angeles Sparks center and three-time WNBA MVP gave birth to her first child this morning.
Lauren Jolie Lockwood weighed 8 pounds, 11 ounces when she was born at 4:11 a.m. at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She arrived ahead of her anticipated due date of June 25.
Leslie is married to pilot Michael Lockwood.
"We are thrilled for Lisa and Michael," Sparks co-owner Kathy Goodman said. "We extend our best wishes to the family. What a tremendous way to celebrate Father's Day weekend."
The 34-year-old Leslie signed a multiyear contract with the Sparks in April. She skipped this season because of her pregnancy.
