Nevada's Sessions will remain in NBA draft

Associated Press

RENO, Nev. — Nevada guard Ramon Sessions announced today he will forgo his senior season with the Wolf Pack so he can "pursue my dream" in the 2007 NBA draft.

Sessions announced in April his intention to make himself for the draft to be held June 28 but had stopped short of hiring an agent in case he reconsidered and wanted to return to Nevada. He said in a statement today he had decided to remain in consideration for the draft.

"After giving it a great deal of thought, I have decided to forgo my senior season," Sessions said. "I truly enjoyed my experience at the University of Nevada. Playing at Nevada has opened many doors for me, including this one, and it is now time for me to pursue my dream."

Sessions, a junior from Myrtle Beach, S.C., was a second team all-Western Athletic Conference selection this year and one of 17 finalists for the 2006-07 Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award. He averaged 12.3 points per game this year, led the team in assists for the third consecutive season and ranked second in the WAC with 4.68 assists per game.
