Michigan softball team allows one run for year

Associated Press

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Katie Osburn closed out Allen Park Cabrini's record-breaking, one-run season by throwing a no-hitter today in a 10-0 win over Frankfort in the Division 4 high school softball final.

Southington (Conn.) High School previously allowed the fewest runs in a season, giving up two in 2004, according to the National Federation of High School Associations.

Osburn hit a first-inning home run and had 12 strikeouts to help Cabrini (35-0) win its second consecutive Division 4 title and extend its 74-game winning streak.
