Ashley Layfield, of Kane'ohe, wins Miss Hawaii title

Ashley Layfield, 21, was crowned the new Miss Hawaii last night at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Coral Ballroom.A Kane'ohe resident and graduate of Castle High School, Layfield competed against 13 other contestants.
Layfield said she plans to obtain a bachelor's degree in American studies and art from UH as well as obtain a master's degree in art with a focus on graphic design.
She is the daughter of Judy and Michael Layfield.
