Father's Day weather should be fabulous

A high-pressure area far northeast of the islands will keep the trade winds blowing steadily through tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

The winds are expected to drop off a bit tomorrow as the high pressure area weakens, forecasters said.

Rainfall today is expected to be light with showers primarily over windward areas.

The winds will pick up again Wednesday night as a new high pressure systems moves toward the state from the northwest.

As the trades strengthen, windward showers may also increase.

Today, mostly sunny. Highs 78 to 88. East winds 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight, mostly clear. Lows 68 to 75. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph.

Monday, mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 79 to 89. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Monday night, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 68 to 74. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tuesday, mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 78 to 89. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tuesday night, partly cloudy with scattered showers. Lows 68 to 75. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.
