Georgetown star will stay in NBA draft

Advertiser Staff

WASHINGTON — Georgetown star Jeff Green is heading to the NBA.

The Hoyas junior will keep his name in the NBA draft — he said last month he intended to turn pro, but said his decision wasn't "set in stone" and kept his options open by not hiring an agent.

Today is the deadline for early-entry candidates to withdraw from the June 28 draft.

Green, a 6-foot-9 forward, led Georgetown in scoring (14.3 points) and averaged 6.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists, helping the Hoyas reach the Final Four for the first time in 22 years.

Green's frontcourt teammate, junior center Roy Hibbert, withdrew from the draft last month.
