Honolulu transit project's scoping report released

Advertiser Staff

The Honolulu High-Capacity Transit Corridor Project has completed its report on comments received during scoping meetings held earlier this year on the project's proposed environmental impact statement.

The public was invited to comment on:

  • the purpose of the project and needs it will address;

  • alternatives, including the technologies to be evaluated;

  • alignments (routes) and termination points to be considered; and

  • environmental, social and economic impacts of the project to be analyzed.

    In response to comments received from the public and government agencies, the environmental impact statement will include three build alternatives: a fixed-guideway route serving Salt Lake, a fixed-guideway route serving Salt Lake and the Honolulu International Airport, and a fixed-guideway route serving the Honolulu International Airport, according to a news release issued this morning.
