WCC's 'Pajama Games' auditions start today

Advertiser Staff

Auditions are being held for "Pajama Game" at the Paliku Theatre at Windward Community College. Community auditions for the college's production are 6:30-9:30 p.m. today through Wednesday.

Windward Community College will host "The Pajama Game," directed by Ron Bright, Friday and Saturday nights from Aug. 24 through Sept. 16.

The musical, from the book by Broadway writer and director George Abbot, deals with labor troubles in the Sleep-Tite Pajama factory, where worker demands for a "seven and a half cent" raise are going unheeded. In the midst of this ordeal, love blossoms between Babe, the head of the complaint committee, and Sid, the new factory superintendent in from Chicago.

This show has many roles in a large ensemble, and opportunities to dance.

Auditioners should bring sheet music for a familiar song to sing, backed by a provided accompanist (no a capella or karaoke or instrumental CDs) and be prepared to dance.

Cold readings will be available for those interested and perusals are available upon request.
