  • State Farm Insurance has appointed KIM CUMMINGS and LAURA KUNEWA as agency executives. Both were agency field executives with State Farm for many years before their recent promotions. Cummings will oversee agents in Leeward and West O'ahu, parts of Honolulu and on Maui. Kunewa will oversee agents in Windward O'ahu, parts of Honolulu and on Kaua'i.

  • ECIT Architecture has announced that STEPHEN HONG has been named project coordinator for Honua Kai North Enclave project in Lahaina, Maui. Hong has a strong background in design, building planning, construction documentation and sustainable design and construction.

  • Tiki's Grill & Bar has promoted KAEO GOUVEIA from assistant manager to general manager. He will be responsible for overseeing operations and creating a strategic growth plan for the restaurant. Gouveia joined Tiki's in 2002 as floor manager.

  • ROBI PETERMAN and CATHERINE NELSON have joined TeamPraxis, which offers services and technology to Hawai'i healthcare providers. Peterman joins the team as an electronic health record specialist. Nelson is a registered nurse with extensive experience in training healthcare professionals to use various information technology applications.

  • The Pacific Resource Partnership has hired CHERYL KANESHIGE as project manager. She will be in charge of special projects that enhance relationships between the construction industry and the business community.

  • ResortQuest Hawaii has promoted QUEENIE HO to the position of decision analytics specialist in the Corporate Revenue Optimization Department. She will primarily be involved with revenue management, pricing activities and initiatives, annual rate setting and revenue budgeting to achieve revenue and profit targets.

  • Central Pacific Bank has hired KENT IBOSHI as vice president and manager of strategic analytics. He is responsible for database and information analysis and was formerly with Bank of Hawaii. Also hired was JOSEPH MILLER as vice president and corporate security manager. He has more than 30 years of experience in law enforcement and security.

  • KMH public accounting firm has hired the following: RONALD RUMBAOA, network engineer/systems administrator; ANGELA TOBA, IT senior in the business consulting division; MELISSA AKERS, intern turned permanent hire in the SolutionsSM division; DANIELLE YANAGIHARA, former intern with the solutions division and tax compliance and advisory services division; SHANELL JUDD and AMANDA WYDRA, both with the assurance and advisory services division; and KATIE SMITH of the accounting solutions division.

  • Maryl Group Inc. has added new staff to three major Big Island projects. They are: MIKE BIDDLE, superintendent at Wai'ula'ula at Mauna Kea; STEPHEN METCALF, superintendent for Hali'ipua Villas at Hulalei; and DAVID RIETOW, project engineer for the Maryl Beach Houses at Kuki'o.

  • CHRIS WACHTA has been promoted to regional vice president of marketing and sales for the Marriott Vacation Club's timeshare operations. He will be responsible for all sales and marketing at Ko Olina, Maui Ocean Club, Kaua'i Beach Club and Waiohai Beach Club.
