A musical group from the U.S. military will continue to perform in Hawai'i this week in conjunction with the Fort Shafter Centennial Celebration.

Musicians from the U.S. Army Band "Strolling Strings," based in Washington, D.C., have performed in notable events and ceremonies, including those at the White House.

It is one of the most requested musical ensembles by our nation's military leadership, the Army said.

The concerts are free and open to the public. This week's performances include:

Tomorrow: Battleship Missouri Memorial, 10 to 11 a.m.; Pacific Aviation Museum, noon to 1 p.m.

Wednesday: 'Aina Haina Public Library, 1 to 2 p.m.; Kaimuki Public Library, 5 to 6 p.m.

Thursday: Barbecue with families of deployed soldiers, Schofield Barracks, noon to 4:30 p.m.; Sergeant Smith Theater, Schofield Barracks, 6 to 7 p.m.

Friday: Fort Shafter Centennial Celebration, 1 to 1:40 p.m.

The group arrived last week and played at the Hale Koa Hotel, Tripler Army Medical Center, the Spark M. Matsunaga VA Medical Center, Kapolei Public Library and the Kapi'olani Park Bandstand.
