LIHU'E, Kaua'i — Police have released two Kaua'i men pending further investigation after their arrest on charges of robbing and assaulting two teens on the grounds of the Grand Hyatt Resort in Po'ipu.

Maxwell Gonsalves, 19 of 'Ele'ele, and Jordan Lee-Hornstine, 20, of Koloa, were arrested the night of the incident.

Police said in a news release that two brothers from Missouri, aged 15 and 18, were confronted about 10 p.m. June 13 at the hotel pool, and that the older brother was held hostage while the younger one went for money.

On his return, one of the assailants punched the 18-year-old, who did not require medical care.

The victims' parents called for help and police arrested Gonsalves and Lee-Hornstine the same night.
