Burlesque meets the big top in 'Outlaw Circus'

The Lizard Loft presents the world premiere of Outlaw

Circus, Friday, June 22, at ARTS at Marks Garage. The show continues at 8 p.m. June 23 and 30, with late-night

performances at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, and Sunday, July 1.

Local punk rock band The Ex-Superheroes plays the soundtrack to mix of short scenes, improv and burlesque overseen by a deranged ringmaster.

Everything from inmates to prostitutes are on display in a show "going where nobody in Hawai'i dares," according to

director Javis Iha. A dominatrix lion tamer and drug-addicted clown are two of the acts in this "Marquis de Sade circus."

As the latest incarnation of LCC's Madhouse, Outlaw Circus features veterans Marissa Robello, Pua'ena Ahn, and Ju Ignit as well as newcomers Rob Harris, Roger Lee, and Gina Brown.

Tickets are $15 general admission and $10 for students and
