Man, 54, arrested in tie to stolen truck

Police arrested a 54-year-old man in Honolulu last night after they found him sitting behind the wheel of a truck that a car dealership had reported as stolen.

A patrol officer ran a license plate check on the parked truck and learned it had been reported stolen, police said.

The officer then arrested the driver about 11:50 p.m. on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.

Cause of death to be determined in Mililani case

An autopsy will determine the cause of death for an 89-year-old Mililani woman who yesterday afternoon was pulled out of a swimming pool at her home on Hakalau'ai Place. She was transported to Wahiawa General Hospital in critical condition and later pronounced dead, officials said.

Police said there were no signs of foul play.

Woman, 51, reportedly found dead on Wai'anae beach

Police are investigating the death of a 51-year-old woman who was reportedly found dead at a beach in Wai'anae about 3:15 p.m. yesterday by her boyfriend.

Police said the woman did not have a prior history of medical problems, but was reportedly using crystal methamphetamine and had not slept for a week. There were no signs of foul play or trauma to the women's body, police said.
