KEAUHOU
$50,000 raised for cancer work

Advertiser Staff

A two-day charity fundraising event held by the American Cancer Society Hawai'i has raised $50,000.

A gala dinner on May 20 at the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa kicked off the event, and 120 golfers took to the links the next day at The Club at Hokuli'a in Kona.

"The funds raised at this event will help the society continue to provide needed services to those in the Islands diagnosed with cancer," said Chris Pablo, volunteer chair of the ACS Hawai'i board. "Most of the money raised will be used to continue the funding of vital services to the residents of West Hawai'i and the rest of the Big Island."
