Solstice fest at botanic garden

Advertiser Staff

The National Tropical Botanical Garden has scheduled a Summer Solstice Celebration from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at its southshore visitors center on Lawa'i Road, across from the Spouting Horn.

Admission is free, although there will be a fee for food and drink provided by Po'ipu Beach Broiler. Hal Kinnaman will play slack key guitar and 'ukulele music.

"We hope that folks come and enjoy the longest day of the year and share this special occasion with family and friends," said gardens director Chipper Wichman, who described the area as "a wonderful and serene atmosphere for spending a beautiful Thursday evening."
