KAPOLEI
Groups benefit from tourney

Advertiser Staff

Officials from the LPGA Fields Open in Hawai'i golf tournament recently presented checks totaling $70,000 to two charities — the Friends of Hawaii Charities and Ko Olina Charities.

Both groups focus on assisting Hawai'i's needy. Friends of Hawaii Charities produces sports and cultural events to generate money to benefit women, children and the needy. Ko Olina Charities provides educational and training opportunities for Leeward residents.

The Fields Open, played in February at Ko Olina Golf Club, is sponsored by the Tokyo-based Fields Corp.
