Kailua man critical after Aiea motorcycle crash

Advertiser Staff

A 32-year-old Kailua man is in critical condition after his motorcycle broadsided a 1999 Chevy Malibu last night.

The accident occurred just before 10 p.m. in 'Aiea. Police said the Malibu, driven by a 24-year-old Honolulu woman, was making a left turn onto Ulune Street from Kamakani Street when the motorcycle broadsided her car. The female driver was uninjured and her 17-year-old female passenger, from the Big Island, reported minor injuries but refused treatment.

Speed may have been a factor for the motorcycle driver, police said, but he was wearing his helmet. Both women in the car were wearing seatbelts, police said.
