Advertiser Staff

Russell Siu, chef and owner of Kakaako Kitchen, announced that he will once again hold a Kakaako Kitchen Chili Cook-Off. The fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House for Programs for Critically Ill Children is set for Aug. 12, and the deadline to compete is Aug. 1.

People can submit their favorite chili recipe and 25 applicants will be asked to prepare their favorite chili dish.

Entries will be judged on originality, texture, taste and table presentation and must bring five gallons of chili. Entrants must bring their own cookware and burners; ladles, serving bowls, utensils and rice will be provided.

Applicants must submit their name, address, telephone number and e-mail address to Kakaako Kitchen, fax it to 533-4195 or e-mail to lisaakim@hawaii.rr.com.

Entrants must be at Kakaako Kitchen by 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 12. Winners will be announced after the judges have tasted all entries.

The recipes submitted to Kakaako Kitchen become the restaurant's property for future use. For further information, call 545-4195.
