Advertiser Staff

The Honolulu medical examiner's office today identified the man who died after being pulled from near-shore waters at Ala Moana Beach Park as Tony Tuitele, 43.

Tuitele was brought to shore unconscious shortly before 1 p.m. and was pronounced dead at Straub Clinic & Hospital at 1:05 p.m.

An autopsy tomorrow will try to determine cause and manner of death.

Tuitele had facial injuries but homicide investigators no not suspect foul play.
