See artist Clyde Oishi Monday on HGTV's 'That's Clever'

Local sculptor Clyde Oishi will be featured on an episode of the HGTV series "That's Clever," airing at 1 p.m. on Monday. The show will be repeated and the exact air time can be confirmed by checking local listings.Born, raised and educated in Hawai'i, Oishi makes art that reflects an Okinawan aesthetic and incorporates Pacific Island images and motifs. His schools of fish and swimming turtles evoke serenity and simplicity. Tapa patterns decorate many of his free-standing sculptures, wall hangings and koa lamps.
"That's Clever" will feature Oishi making a copper wire zebra from material selection to completion, a process that takes more than 100 hours.
