Crews sent to rescue hiker at Diamond Head Crater

Firefighters, rescue workers and city paramedics are being sent to Diamond Head Crater where a hiker is reported to be in distress.

The call for assistance was received shortly after 7 a.m.

There is no information yet on the age or gender of the hiker who is being described as "unresponsive" in the bunker at the summit of the crater rim.

The Fire Department's helicopter has also been called in to help in the rescue.
