Mapunapuna site reopens following short evacuation

Advertiser Staff

The Ceridian Building and Kaiser Permanente's Mapunapuna Clinic reopened shortly after 9 a.m. this morning.

The building, at 2828 Pa'a Street, was evacuated about 8:45 a.m. after workers reported smelling a strong odor of propane gas.

Fire Capt. Frank Johnson said meters used by firefighters to sniff out chemical odors could find no trace of propane or any other chemical substance so customers and staff members were allowed to return to the building.
