Local company to help promote 'Surf's Up' DVD release

Tsunami Surf Simulators has signed a contract with Sony Entertainment America to help promote the release of the movie "Surf's Up" on DVD.The Honolulu-based company will provide surf simulators at more than 20 locations across the country as part of the marketing campaign for the movie's DVD release, said Paul Goo, chief executive officer of Tsunami Surf Simulators.
Goo, who founded the company in 1986, said the portable, computerized system features a locally made surfboard with onboard sensors that convert movement into signals that a computer reads and translates into a virtual video surfing experience on a huge projection screen.
