Advertiser Staff

Funeral services have been set for a 63-year-old Kalihi woman who was allegedly stabbed to death June 13 by her husband. The body of Liwliwa Saoit Barayuga was found in the bedroom of her home on Akina Street.

Her husband, Vitorio Barayuga, was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition after apparently slashing his wrists.

Police believe the incident was a case of murder-suicide, but have yet to interview the husband, who remains hospitalized.

Liwliwa Barayuga was born in Licab, Nueva Ecija, Philippines.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons Bienvenido and Gerry; daughters, Marilyn Ofiaza and Marilou Coughlin; brothers, Hipolito, Placido and Pablo Saoit; and sisters, Bibiana and Estrella Baraguya and Leticia Bonilla.

Visitation is 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Mililani Downtown Mortuary with a service beginning at 6 p.m.

Burial will be in the Philippines.
