THE BUZZ: Word has it that Paul McCartney will do a summer small-club tour to promote his new "Memory Almost Full" CD. Part of Starbucks' new record label, Hear Music, it debuted in the coffee outlets across the country. The tour would begin once his divorce from Heather Mills is final, and Honolulu supposedly is on the radar. I checked with a couple of possible venues but no confirmed gig yet, so stay tuned. ...

Celebs have been in and out of town of late. Oops, that was Britney Spears, with son Jayden, in a recent People photo with an Isle dateline. An earlier issue featured Jim Carrey and girlfriend Jenny McCarthy splashing in the ocean, beach unnamed. ...

James "Book 'em Danno" MacArthur had to drop out of Joe Moore's August production of "Prophecy and Honor." The move elevates real-life attorney (and actor) David Farmer to the rank of a judge, the part he'll now do. The cast includes Richard Dreyfuss, Don Stroud, Terence Knapp and Frank DeLima, the last playing the showboating Congressman Fiorello LaGuardia. ...

FILM LOOP: Branscombe Richmond, the actor who hosts "Good Morning Hawai'i," has been filming DreamWorks' "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" at the Paramount lot in Hollywood. He plays Keoki, a Hawaiian biker-bartender. The bar set includes a bathroom wing, and when he peeked in the other day, he found posters of Barefoot Natives Willie K and Eric Gilliom above the urinals — along with shots of unclad women. "I wonder if Willie and Eric know they're part of the latrine scene," said Richmond, flushed with laughter. ...

The folks at the ResortQuest Kaua'i Beach at Makaiwa on the Garden Island are caught up in "Tropical Thunder" fever. That's the movie that director (and actor) Ben Stiller will film in July (with Tom Cruise, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr.). The hotel, site of auditions, has had Neville King, regional director of food and beverage, concoct a Tropical Thunder dessert — crisp meringue layered between five flavors of ice cream, whipped cream, tropical fruit purees and fresh fruits, topped with toasted coconut, crushed macadamia nuts and chocolate sauce. You can slurp it at the Voyager Grill. ...

ITEMIZATIONS: It's a Guy thing at Hula's Bar & Lei Stand at the Waikiki Grand hotel. Guy Cruz does his solo thing, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Fridays, and works as Guy Cruz and the Guys from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturdays, when his new combo joins him. ...

That was Burton White, Hawai'i Theatre general manager and artistic director, lunching with Judy Murata, longtime assistant to Jim Nabors, who now divides her time between Florida and world travels with beau Bud Seretean. The talk: the decade of Christmas shows Nabors did at the Hawai'i. ...

PEGGY'S CHUMS: Artist Peggy Chun's home on 'Alika Avenue, off Pali Highway, was the scene of a "women's party" last Saturday. The men in attendance (with the exception of the band) had to dress in "drag." Chun has a closet filled with 50 costume choices. The living room was the stage; rock and blues were big in the jams. The music-makers included Zanuck Lindsey, guitar and vocals; Perry Stevens, guitar and vocals; Jason Segler, drums (he's Peggy's nephew); Jen Segler, vocals (Jason's wife); Kit Ebersbach, keyboards; Jon Hawes, bass; Bob Frost, bass; Scott Shafer, drums; Keith Frazer, guitar and vocals; Rick Smith, guitar; Alan Gaylor, harmonica; and other musicians like Ian Chames, Otis Schafer, Bobby Hernandez, David Haynes, and Rex Godinas. ...
