Preserve sets 3 summer events

The Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, the state's first Marine Life Conservation District, is celebrating its 40th anniversary with three summer events.

The first, E Malama I Ke Kai, is from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the bay and focuses on protecting the ocean, information on sea turtles and marine debris.

The second event is from 6 to 9 p.m. July 28 on Hawaiian reefs, and a third event from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 11 about remembering Hanauma Bay.
