Schulze wins YMCA award

Advertiser Staff

Kilauea resident Donna Schulze has received the national B.P. "Boots" Faubion Award by the U.S. Area Y's Men's Clubs.

Schulze, 83, a former executive director of the Kaua'i YMCA, is also the five-time president of the East Kaua'i Y's Men's Club.

She continues to teach beginning swimming for the YMCA and is an avid athlete, having participated in 217 footraces, including four marathons.

She is the first woman to receive the award, which is given every two years and honors outstanding contributions and a lifetime of service to the YMCA and Y's Men's program by full-time or retired YMCA professionals.
