Kaiser focusing on scholarships

The Kaiser High School Foundation will hold a fund- raiser to establish a scholarship fund and to honor the school's first athletic director, Ted Fukushima, at 5:30 p.m. June 29 at the Sheraton Waikiki, Hawai'i Ballroom.

Fukushima, Kaiser's first athletic director in 1971, spent his career committed to youth athletics, especially for students of Kalani and Kaiser high schools.

The goal is to net $20,000 to start the scholarship fund to be granted to eligible students. Cost is $1,000 for general tables of 10, $100 per individual, or for a golden circle table, $1,500, or $150 each.
