Brushfire forces closure of Farrington Hwy. at Makua

Police have closed a stretch of Farrington Highway near Makua Valley where firefighters are battling a major brushfire.As of 4:30 a.m., approximately 10 fire companies were fighting the blaze, which was reported about 3:50 a.m.
So far, the fire has only been partially contained.
No homes or other structures have been threatened by the fire up to this point.
