Windy weather likely to last for next several days

It now looks like the brisk trade winds will continue blowing into the middle of the new work week, according to the National Weather Service.

As a result, rainfall is expected to increase through the weekend, mainly over windward slopes although isolated showers may reach leeward areas at times, forcasters said.

Here's a bit more information on what to expect during the next few days:

Today, sunny and breezy. Highs 78 to 88. East winds 15 to 25 mph.

Tonight, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 70 to 77. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph and gusty. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Sunday, mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 78 to 88. East winds 10 to 15 mph with higher gusts. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Sunday night, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 70 to 77. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph and gusty. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Monday, mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 78 to 88. East winds 10 to 15 mph with higher gusts. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Monday night, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 69 to 77. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
