MLB: Bochy ejected for second time in three games

Associated Press

SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy was ejected for the second time in three games, getting tossed after arguing a call at first base in today's game against the New York Yankees.

Bochy came out to argue after Ray Durham was called out on a close play at first base in the sixth inning. Durham had hit a grounder off pitcher Chien-Ming Wang's glove to shortstop Derek Jeter. The throw to first beat Durham but replays appeared to show that Miguel Cairo's foot was off the bag.

Bochy came out to argue and was ejected by umpire Phil Cuzzi. Bochy stayed out and continued the argument, throwing his hat at one point, before leaving to an ovation from the home crowd. The frustration has been building for San Francisco, which entered the game on a season-high eight-game losing streak.

Bochy, who also was ejected Wednesday in Milwaukee, has been tossed four times this season and 34 in his career.
