A Young Street apartment was destroyed in a fire this afternoon.

Firefighters said no one was in the apartment when the blaze started, and no injuries were reported.

The fire was reported about 5:58 p.m. in a third-floor unit at 2064 Young St. About 14 firefighters got to the scene by 6:03 p.m.

The fire was under control within four minutes.

Battalion Chief Nathan Ramos said the cause of the fire is under investigation.

The blaze did not spread to adjacent units.
