Beach volleyball: Metzger, Lambert fall in semifinals

Punahou graduates Stein Metzger and Mike Lambert fell in the semifinals to Brazil's Emanuel Rego and Ricardo Santos today at the $600,000 Henekl Grand Chelem in Paris.Metzger and Lambert, the 14th seeds, beat Spain's Pablo Herrera and Raul Mesa, 21-16, 21-17, in Round 3 before losing to the second-seeded Brazilians, 21-16, 21-15. They will play Germany's Julius Brink and Christoph Dieckmann in today's third-place match.
The first of five majors on the 2007 SWATCH-FIVB World Tour concludes today.
