Sunny weather expected to last through today

The trade winds will weaken a bit starting today through Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Rainfall will increase just a bit at the same time, mostly over windward slopes, forecasters said.

By Monday, the showers are expected to start spreading over leeward areas as well, especially over Kaua'i and the Big Island.

Here's a more detailed look at the next few days:

Today, mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 78 to 88. East winds 10 to 15 mph with higher gusts. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 70 to 76. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph and gusty. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Monday, mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 78 to 88. East winds 10 to 15 mph with higher gusts. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Monday night, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 69 to 76. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph and gusty. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tuesday, partly sunny. Isolated showers in the morning. Highs 74 to 89. East winds 10 to 20 mph with higher gusts. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tuesday night, mostly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 68 to 76. Northeast winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
