3 arrested in stolen-car case in Waikiki

Advertiser Staff

Three men were arrested this morning after police spotted a stolen car blocking a sidewalk in Waikiki.

Police said the officers were on routine patrol when they saw the car parked on the sidewalk near Cleghorn Street at about 10:15 a.m. A check determined that the car had been reported stolen.

Officers approached the vehicle and arrested two of the men. A third was arrested after a brief chase.

The 37-year-old driver was booked on suspicion of unauthorized control of a vehicle. The two other men, 25 and 38, were booked on suspicion of second-degree unlawful entry into a vehicle.

Charges against the three were pending.
