Maui diving platform damaged by fire

The Honolulu Fire Department's fireboat "Mokuahi" was called into service early this morning to extinguish a fire aboard a scuba diving platform anchored off the Keehi Small Boat Harbor.The fire was reported about 2:45 a.m. and was extinguished by 3:15 a.m.
No one was aboard the platform when the fire started.
The cause of the fire and a damage estimate were not immediately available.
The incident and concerns about floating debris from the fire were reported to the Coast Guard.
