Higher fuel costs continue to hit Aloha's bottom line

Advertiser Staff

Aloha Airlines posted a $24.3 million loss during the third quarter, as higher fuel costs continued to take a toll on the company's bottom line.

The losses were up from the fourth quarter 2006 when Aloha lost $8.5 million, according to figures released today by the U.S Department of Transportation. The results came on operating revenues of $88.1 million, which was down from fourth quarter 2006's $94.7 million.

The state's second largest carrier's fuel costs increased to about $23 million from the previous quarter's $22.7 million.
